Another Six Weeks of Winter

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow on the morning of February 2nd, indicating a longer winter season.

Thanks to everyone who helped out at our booth at the Fly Fishing Show. We had reasonably good raffle ticket sales and, as usual, enjoyed the time spent speaking with so many folks who enjoy our sport.

We are in the real BUSY time of the year for FSB. Fly Tying class begins Tuesday, February 3rd, and runs every Tuesday through March at 8 PM in Camp Jefferson.

Our Power Point presentation, “An Introduction to the Art of Fly Fishing” is complete and ready to use at libraries in North Jersey. Our first presentation will be at the Pequannock Library on March 19th. I think we can handle one presentation a month. If you know of any group who might be interested, let me know.

Darren Rist will be our guest speaker at our February membership meeting on February 18th. As always, Darren will teach us things about the Delaware River system we didn’t know and amuse us with his collection of trout porn. Come On Out!

Don’t forget that Ramsey Outdoors will have their annual Cast ‘n Blast exposition on Saturday, February 21st from 10 AM to 4 PM. FSB will have a booth. As usual, we are looking for volunteers. Shake the “cabin fever” and join us.

Last, but not least, please don’t forget our banquet on Saturday, March 21st. Early Bird tickets are on sale until February 28th. Contact Tom Mount at tumount@comcast.net, 908-979-1631.
