Sparta Glen Project

The Fred S. Burroughs North Jersey [FSBNJ] Chapter of Trout Unlimited [TU] is proud to announce that it is embarking on a new stream restoration project right here in Sparta! The Sparta Glen Brook has suffered miserably from the effects of erosion and several 100 year flood events. The erosion is causing severe damage to the brook’s ecosystem and trout habitat. In an effort to stop the erosion and restore the brook to its natural state, the FSBNJ Chapter of TU has proposed a restoration project to the Township of Sparta.

Overall, the project will restore .68 miles of the Sparta Glen Brook as designated on the map displayed here. We estimate the cost of the initial project to be about $75,000. The FSBNJ Chapter of TU is committed to sponsoring multiple fundraising events for this important conservation project and welcome your support and your donations as well.
