Mission

Mission:
Trout Unlimited’s mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America’s trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds.

TU accomplishes this mission on local, state and national levels with an extensive and dedicated volunteer network. TU’s national office, based just outside of Washington, D.C., and its regional offices employ professionals who testify before Congress, publish a quarterly magazine, intervene in federal legal proceedings, and work with the organization’s 125,000 volunteers in 500 chapters nationwide to help them in conservation issues.

The Fred S. Burroughs North Jersey Chapter of Trout Unlimited was founded in 1969 to promote conservation in Northern New Jersey.

TU describes its conservation mission as Protect, Reconnect, Restore, and Sustain. FSB North Jersey is working to Protect the Flatbrook River system; Reconnect the Musconetcong to its sources and the sea; Restore the cold water habitats of North Jersey with our clean-ups and streambank work; and Sustain the future with Trout in the Classroom, our work with youth organizations, and our schedule of classes and demonstrations.
